As our firm has grown and expanded services and capabilities, we have tried not to lose sight of one simple premise: meeting each client's needs is our most important priority. Creativity

In part to lower fees, some firms have developed a "standard" design that is used on every project. Unfortunately, the result sometimes makes a client's problem conform to a "standard" solution.
G/BA endeavors to view each project from a fresh perspective. This approach results in cost-effective and imaginative solutions that achieve our client's objectives. Building engineering consulting offers a wide array of opportunities to use energy more efficiently, reduce operating costs, improve the indoor environment and maximize return on investment. When asked why they are working here, our employees express a personal commitment to the environment and a belief that the work we do plays a valuable role in preserving our planet's finite resources. Protecting the environment is part of our responsibility.

Our clients have reduced energy consumption saving millions of dollars in energy costs. This has also reduced pollution and the impact of global warming. Such projects have helped reduce the need for thousands of pounds of CFC refrigerants which could negatively impact the planet's ozone layer.

G/BA has also worked to improve the indoor environment where people live and work. At times, this has required us to resolve indoor air quality problems of an acute nature. In such cases, G/BA's services offered practical remedies along with the utmost attention, care and discretion towards occupant sensitivities.

A Commitment to People

G/BA's management understands that people are its most important asset. We strive to make working at G/BA an exciting and important part of life - not "just a job". Providing high quality consulting services requires people who are well trained and educated. Many staff members have been hired directly out of engineering school, and continuing their education and training is a high priority. We establish annual training goals for all personnel including formal out-of-office training sessions, recommended reading lists and in-house training, often in our new on-site training facility. Experienced senior staff/mentors are paired with younger employees for on the job coaching.

Keeping up with state-of-the-art developments has long been an important part of the G/BA culture. The firm actively supports participation in professional societies such as ASHRAE, ASPE and IEEE. Several firm members have served in leadership positions and on technical committees at both the local and higher levels in each of these organizations and in community-level organizations promoting conservation issues.

One of G/BA's strengths is its ability to not only solve the problems of its clients but transform them into opportunities (e.g. solve a ventilation problem and improve indoor air quality, replace failing equipment and reduce energy costs). Such situations are viewed as opportunities to exercise creative problem-solving. G/BA's staff is not content simply to address a problem with a predictable course of action: the way it was done in the past. Rather, each problem receives a fresh approach with forward-looking creativity built upon past experience.
