A new central data and a 24-hour call center for NorthShore University HealthSystem located in an existing off-site 1940s office building. In addition to providing new Computer room cooling units, the building's HVAC infrastructure was significantly upgraded to support the year-round cooling requirements load and redundancy requirements of the new data center, as well as the year-round cooling requirements for a 10,000 square foot data center and a 24-hour call center.

• New computer room air conditioning units with n+1 redundancy
• Entirely new critical process chilled water system with n+1 redundancy that includes three 225 ton air cooled liquid chillers located on the roof and three 525 gpm chilled water pumps located within the building.
• Two of three chillers and pumps are on emergency power
• A new underground fuel oil storage tank and intermediate fuel oil pumping system to serve the 2,000 kW emergency generator on roof
• New chilled water distribution system from the roof to the data center is located in the very limited ceiling space of the existing building
• Expansion of the existing pre-action sprinkler system and installation of a new FM gaseous fire suppression system for the computer room
• The location within a residential neighborhood called for extensive acoustic analysis. The chillers were provided with a custom sound attenuating enclosure as well as being located within an acoustic screen.
